What a treat! The historic 'Legend of Ape Canyon' bigfoot encounter story occurred in July 1924. It was a huge story featured in at least 3 separate large newspapers and brought a large flock of people to the area around Mt. St. Helens to search for the "ape-men" that had made war with a group of prospectors, in the Spirit Lake area.
